Dwaraka Prathistana(R.) encourages reading culture through book festival with Enthusiastic contribution

Dwaraka Prathistana Leads the way in fostering a love for books.

The Book Festival, Book Donors' Meet, and Literary Grandeur took place under the leadership of the Dakshina Kannada Sahitya Parishat in association with the Jnanaganga Book shop at Puttur Taluk. Along with their cooperation, the event aimed to cultivate the habit of reading books among the youth. The three-day event, consisting of the Book Festival, Book Donors' Meet, and Literary Grandeur, took place on August 11th at the Puttur Co-operative Town Bank Auditorium.

The inauguration of the event was done by Mr. Gopalkrishna Bhat, Managing Director, Dwaraka Constructions and The president of Dwaraka Prathistana. Former legislator Mr. Sanjeeva Matandoor inaugurated the program and spoke about the importance of books in bringing about social change. He emphasized the significance of introducing our culture by first familiarizing people with our language.

Dr.M.P. Srinath, the President of Dakshina Kannada Sahitya Parishath, spoke about the importance of promoting literature and mentioned that over the past year, the Dakshina Kannada Sahitya Parishat has conducted more than 300 programs to spread literature.

The first book donor and literary figure Prof. V.B. Arthikaje explained that commencing such programs easy but acknowledged the challenges in executing them and appreciated the efforts of Sahitya Parishath for introducing literature to society. He also highlighted the importance of such programs in spreading literature.

The books 'Sakkare Gombe' and 'Bhava Dyuthi' which are written by poet Sandhya Dattatreya Rao were released by senior writer Dr H.G Shreedhar, Registrar, Vivekananda Autonomous Examination Centre. Writer Shankari Sharma introduced the author and Mr Suresh Nayak of Co-operative town Bank, senior doctor Dr Sudha Rao, Mr B. Aitappa Nayak, Treasurer of D.K. Sahitya Parishath and Mr. Prakash Kodenkiri of Jnanaganga Bookshop were present.

Dr. Peter Wilson, program director of the Puttur branch of Kannada Sahithya Parishath, welcomed the gathering. Dr. Harsha Kumar Rai, Administrative officer, proposed the vote of thanks.
